i love the strong canadian dollar.

i was offically accepted into the architecture program today, so my class schedule for this year (which had been in flux) is finally all sorted out. somehow, once again, my classes ended up balanced between terms and majors, with every one counting toward some degree requirement or another. this amazes and reassures me.

i've only had one class so far, but i'm already pretty excited.

i just broke my record in spending for tickets to a single concert.

i am going to see daft punk.

even those of you who know me well may not know that i have participated in a karaoke duet of bryan adams' "(everything i do) i do it for you", yet i have. my performance included fist punches in the air. shiu can back me up on this.

also, when i was younger and worked for the cn tower, i attempted to belt out "mother's little helper" by the rolling stones in joe badali's in front of a crowd of many dozens. it was one of my most embarassing moments. as i gasped for air i realized unequivocably that i'm not mick jagger.

but i still like to think that i might secretly be robert pollard (vocalist of the now-defunct guided by voices). thusly, my #1 ideal karaoke pick of all time is guided by voices - hot freaks. if you like this, get 'guided by voices - bee thousand'. every song is perfect, though only one (of 20) passes the 3 minute mark.

you may be interested to know that of the 5 british citizens kidnapped yesterday in iraq ("four ... security workers and one client"), the four employees were working for a "Montreal-based security firm" called GardaWorld. apparently this canadian company has recently won a peace prize.

i bookmarked this ttc google map mashup - very useful! it shows ttc subways and bus routes, and GO trains and bus routes. i'm planning a trip to the scarborough bluffs tomorrow.

in other news, school is over. marks are in, and fortunately they are good.

mutek is coming up soon. i'm going to check out concordia while i'm in montreal.

they published a list of the world's billionaires in forbes today (and reprinted it in the star), so i started to read down the list and i recognized pretty much all of the first 30 names and i thought, "yeah, i know pretty much all of the billionaires." then i started to scroll... down to #891.
